Poke is a raw salad served as an appetizer in Hawaii. Poke means "to slice or cut". Ahi is yellowfin tuna, firm in texture and mild in flavor.
1 lb yellowfin tuna, sashimi grade,
2 tablespoons diced sweet onion
2 tablespoon soy sauce
2 tablespoons chopped chili pepper
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 tablespoons roasted crushed candlenut
1Cut the avocado and the ahi to small cubes, preferably ¼”.
2In a large mixing bowl combine the diced onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, chopped chili pepper and the sea salt. add the ahi and the avocado. Gently mix with the crushed candlenut.
3Chill it in the freezer for 5 min before serving.
